I can totally see this! Don't underestimate majorettes, folks. Or drum majors (it's called a "mace" for a reason), or trombone players, or saxophonists, and I'd say even a piccolo case could hurt if applied with the right amount of force to the tender bridge of the nose!

It's raining today, and I'm so happy about it. I've been working my tail off for a month, to the point where all my weekends and evenings have been filled with grading papers, and it's been getting uncomfortably warm and muggy as well. So on the first Saturday I have a chance to relax, I'm loving the cool air and the sound of rain on the balcony.
